Girl’s Dead Monster: Bonus Chapter Review

First is it strange to review my own works? well that doesn’t matter since I will do this to all chapters, a few days after the team and I release the chapter I will do this (hopefully this will not spoil to much) think of it like a walk-through afterwards in case you missed anything.

So Monday before sunrise is an adaption of the bonus light novel chapter I was working on this month (alongside chapter 02 but that one was way longer) anyway the first thing I want to point out since a lot of people seemed to have thought this, THIS IS NOT CHAPTER 2 just wanted to point out that fact since people seemed to misunderstood that.

I was also trying to pick up on how to use the image-map system (basically how buttons work and where they are placed) and I thought “hey this chapter might be able to use it right” so then I made it a point to try it out:

And so the result was clear (I got it to work of course) and so I was able to implement it so well, now I’m gonna talk about the story of this chapter.

Since this was based of the light novel deep down I couldn’t make and routes or choices in this chapter (I tried.. well that turned out horrible so I canceled it) can edit a story which actually happened in the angel beats world, what I mean is that I wouldn’t want to ruin the main story, so in some sense this is a kinetic visual novel (one ending, not being able to do much) and so this will probably apply to all of track zero chapters that I will work on in months ahead.

The first story is about Sekine introducing the band members and basic information on them, and then talking about each member in a story format one at a time, the sad thing is, since Sekine was the main character the chapter didn’t include her story specific (which to me, upsets me since she deserved one) reasons why is obvious at the end of the chapter.

I also tried to use one graphic for avatars this helps but I will still other ones for help and appropriateness.

The rest of the characters stories were great to work on as well, firstly was Hisako’s story which turned out pretty funny and surprising (going through episode 06 again to see how she plays mahjong’s), next was Irie which was great and to learn about her personality, I mean 2-4 lines in the show wasn’t enough and to mention her voice was poplar from working which deserved more attention, then Iwasawa’s one was the one that surprised me at the end, honestly I didn’t expect her to be like this in the band, apparently according to Sekine she actually spoke like that.

Overall it was a great chapter that has it’s ups and downs but I’m still glad I made it, helps those who don’t want to read the light novels and helps get closer to understanding the characters and bonding with them more.

Also about future releases, I’ll be working on chapter 02 for now (really amazing how hard it is to wok on this chapter (too confused right now and trying to pick myself up again) about other releases in the future who knows what other ones I’ll work on..
